About Tanseido

"Tan" is a red paint and "Sei" is a blue paint. For these reasons, "Tansei" turns to the meaning of painting pictures. Our company's name "Tanseido" is correlated "Tansei" which means painstaking technique with "Tansei" which means painting pictures. Each words are same pronunciation.

Since the first president Nihei Masuya (Nihei Hori) began as a shop, We believe to sell "aspiration" for bonny things and "breadth of mind" to feel it. With taking natural things, for example trees and papers, we create and sell the goods to lead your happy lives. Our ancient line of company's name "Tanseido" shows our keenness to have the consistent policies. And it will be come down our coming future.

Our company deals in calligraphy, art supplies between Japanese and Western style, contain Japanese paintings, ink paintings, painting letters and so on, and Japanese papers. In addition to this, Japanese fan, Hina doll, our company deals in a various Japanese culture-based goods and services for revolving seasons.

History of our company

  1. In 1874 our first shop was established at 2cho-me Karamonochou Higashi-ku Osaka.
  2. In 1925 we opened up Ebisubashi store.
  3. In 1949 we incorporated a business.
  4. In 1966 we opened up at Nagoya.
  5. In 1973 we opened up at Tokyo.
